When I tell people I bought a miata they always ask what I did with my mustang. It's still my DD and the miata, when I get it running will be my track day/occasional car.

Nothing. The Miata is going to be a toy. I'll drive it to work on nice days, use it for cruising around when it's nice out, and probably take it autocrossing.

Saves some wear on the Sonic and gives me a different experience (old car, RWD, convertible, etc).

At least in my scenario the miata is a totally different car. Time will tell what I actually do, but I plan on driving the Miata as a DD when the weather is nice. The Sonic will be saved for crappy days, longer drives, and carrying stuff, or just for days I want some turbo in my life.
